WARNING: READ BEFORE PLAYING

A very small percentage of people may experience seizures or blackouts when exposed to certain light patterns or flashing lights, including while playing video games. Even people with no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause photosensitivity seizures.

Symptoms

Stop playing immediately and consult a doctor if you experience any of the following:

  • Dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitches
  • Loss of awareness, disorientation, or any involuntary movement
  • Convulsions

Recommendations

  • Sit or stand a reasonable distance from the screen
  • Play in a well-lit room
  • Take regular breaks — about 15 minutes every hour
  • Stop if you feel tired, nauseous, or unwell
  • Parents should watch for symptoms in children and adolescents

Treasure Trovers content notes
